Hero for hire.
In keeping with the spirit of the small independent, Moraelin Design has left the well trodden paths of gaudy colour and spangly exhuberance, for something altogether more..........minimal.
There’s no denying it — change is exciting.
Back in late 2008, I launched the last version of this site (before this one), as an established freelance designer hoping to get a little more exposure and expand my client base in a few new directions.
The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Since that time, Moraelin Design has had many visitors, which have lead me on to many opportunities, and some great projects. The latest of which has me on a mission for world domination.
Shifting focus
So with a move away from the more traditional 'here's what I can do' website, I guess you could say this site’s objectives have shifted a little too. Thus, Moraelin Design has finally taken on a more minimalistic shape that better reflects my own personal design tastes.
Along with putting the site on a visual ‘diet’ I’ve also taken a more minimalist approach to its content. The work section is slimmed right down and the contact and client areas have disappeared. Perhaps most, is the notable addition of the journal.
Why?
Well these days the stream of comments that follow any Facebook or Twitter comment seems to make things feel more like random noise, rather than any sort of dialogue. I mean, when was the last time you read all the prior comments before posting your own? If people have something they want to say, they can still get at me on twitter, write to me, or even better, drop all their ‘mind-grapes’ with a response on their own blog. But don’t get me wrong — I want to hear from you!
So there you have it. Hope you like the change. I’ve said this before, but I really plan on being more consistent with writing in the journal. I’ve slimmed down the process of writing too, so it should be even easier to bash out articles when I’ve got the time.
Anyhoo, enjoy the new site. Let me know what you think.
Over and out.
